SOME STORIES BEGIN WITH A DREAM. THIS ONE BEGAN WITH A LOSS.
Sometimes, one personal loss becomes a reason to help thousands. On 9 December 2024, I lost my mother, Late Adv. Nikhat Ali, at Bansal Hospital, Bhopal. That day changed something inside me forever. I was financially capable of buying food and eating a meal, but I couldn't bring myself to eat while my mother was suffering inside the hospital. I remember seeing people outside hospitals - attendants waiting for their loved ones, families spending everything they had on treatment, daily wage workers trying to survive another day. And I began thinking: What happens to the hungry person who wants to eat a proper meal, but simply cannot afford one? Some people have the desire to eat, but not the means to do so. That thought stayed with me. And eventually, it became a mission.
THE STORY OF KHUSHBOO
Khushboo Mahila Evam Bal Kalyan Samiti was founded by the late Adv. Nikhat Ali, with a vision of serving society and creating meaningful support for people who need it. Over the years, Khushboo has worked across multiple areas of social welfare, including:
Women Empowerment: Supporting women and working towards their dignity, independence and rights.
Legal Aid: Helping people who may not have the resources or knowledge to access legal support.
Child Welfare: Supporting children who need care, educational assistance and opportunities.
Healthcare Support: Extending support to people facing medical challenges, including assistance to thalassemia patients through blood donation and financial support.
Education: Supporting educational opportunities and helping children move towards a better future.
Cultural and Sports Activities: Encouraging participation, confidence, talent and community development.
Environment and Community Welfare: Working wherever there is an opportunity to create a healthier and more responsible society.
Today, that responsibility continues under the leadership of the President, Khushboo Mahila Evam Bal Kalyan Samiti. And after losing the founder of Khushboo Mahila Evam Bal Kalyan Samiti, we wanted to give her work a new chapter. Not just by remembering her. But by continuing to serve people in her memory.
A MEAL OF HOPE
I may not be able to change the entire world. But I can make a difference wherever I can reach. That is why we are beginning:
700 MEALS EVERY SUNDAY
Every Sunday, our team aims to prepare and distribute 700 freshly prepared, hygienically packed meals to people who genuinely need them. Our focus will particularly be on:
Patients' attendants and families waiting outside hospitals
People who cannot afford their daily meals
Homeless and underprivileged individuals
Daily wage workers and economically weaker families
Anyone struggling to arrange a proper meal
This is not about charity for a photograph. It is about making sure that a person who is hungry can sit down and eat with dignity.
EVERY Rs 72 HAS A PURPOSE
The approximate cost of preparing one food packet is Rs 72.
ONE MEAL = Rs 72
So, your contribution supports meals at:
Rs 72 for 1 meal
Rs 360 for 5 meals
Rs 720 for 10 meals
Rs 1,440 for 20 meals
Rs 3,600 for 50 meals
Rs 7,200 for 100 meals
OUR WEEKLY TARGET
700 meals x Rs 72 = Rs 50,400 every Sunday
OUR 4-SUNDAY MONTHLY TARGET
700 x 4 = 2,800 meals
2,800 x Rs 72 = Rs 2,01,600
OUR 52-SUNDAY ANNUAL TARGET
700 x 52 = 36,400 meals
36,400 x Rs 72 = Rs 26,20,800
OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GOAL
Rs 27,00,000
We have kept our annual fundraising target at Rs 27 lakh. Approximately:
Rs 26,20,800 will support the planned 36,400 meals across 52 Sundays.
Rs 79,200 will remain as a limited operational and contingency buffer for unavoidable programme requirements, such as transportation, sanitation, distribution supplies, price fluctuations or emergency needs.
Our intention is simple: keep the programme transparent and put the maximum possible amount towards feeding people. If operational expenses are lower than expected, the balance can be directed towards additional meals.
HOW WILL A SUNDAY ACTUALLY WORK?
This is not simply: Collect money -> buy food -> take photographs. We want to build a proper, repeatable Food Donation Drive.
01 - DONATION AND PLANNING
Donations received for the initiative will be recorded and allocated towards the Sunday meal programme. Before every Sunday, the team will confirm: Number of meals, Menu, Ingredients, Kitchen/Preparation, Packaging, Volunteers, and Distribution locations.
02 - FOOD PROCUREMENT
Required ingredients and packaging materials will be arranged in advance. We will work towards purchasing from reliable suppliers and maintaining proper hygiene during preparation, storage and transportation. Food safety matters because a meal is only truly helpful when it is safe to eat. Guidance emphasises safe food handling, personal hygiene, sanitation, safe transport and responsible waste disposal.
03 - FRESH FOOD PREPARATION
Meals will be freshly prepared for the Sunday distribution. The focus will be on fresh food, clean preparation, safe handling, proper portions, and hygienic packaging.
04 - PACKAGING
Each meal will be packed properly before distribution. The objective is not to make someone feel that they are receiving leftover charity. They are receiving a meal prepared for them, packed for them, and given to them with dignity.
05 - VOLUNTEER TEAM
Our volunteers will help with food packing, transportation, queue management, distribution, crowd assistance, cleanliness, waste collection, documentation, counting, and reporting.
06 - DISTRIBUTION
Priority locations will include areas where genuine need is visible, particularly around hospitals, economically weaker communities, daily-wage worker areas, homeless/underprivileged communities, and other identified locations in Bhopal. Distribution will be organised so people can receive food respectfully rather than having to fight or push for a packet.
07 - CLEAN-UP
Our responsibility does not end after the last packet is distributed. We will place/arrange appropriate waste collection points wherever practical and ensure that leftover food and packaging waste are handled responsibly. We want to feed people without leaving our surroundings dirty.
TRANSPARENCY - LET PEOPLE SEE THE IMPACT
Every Sunday should tell a story. Not just through numbers, but through real work. We plan to document the initiative through:
Preparation photographs
Volunteer photographs
Food packing photographs
Distribution photographs
Short Sunday videos
Meal-count updates
Expense and donation records where appropriate
Beneficiary stories, with dignity and consent.
We will not use someone's poverty as entertainment. If we photograph or record people, their dignity comes first. The purpose of documentation is to show donors where we went, what we prepared, how many meals we distributed, and what their contribution helped make possible.
A PERSONAL REQUEST
I am not asking everyone to make a huge donation. I am simply asking you to become a part of something meaningful.
If you can contribute Rs 72, you can help provide one food packet.
If you can contribute Rs 720, you can help provide ten.
If you can contribute Rs 7,200, you can help provide one hundred.
And if you cannot donate financially, please share this campaign. Because sometimes your share reaches the person who can provide the next 100 meals.
I KNOW I CANNOT FEED THE ENTIRE WORLD.
But in my area, in my city, and wherever my team and I can reach, we will do our best to ensure that no one goes hungry simply because they could not afford a meal. My mother's memory will always remain close to my heart. I cannot bring her back. But I can carry forward what she believed in. And perhaps, somewhere on a Sunday, a hungry person will receive a meal because of the work we started in her memory. If we can put a smile on even one hungry person's face, our efforts will be worthwhile.

A NOTE ON THE FACTS
Food insecurity remains a global challenge. The UN's 2025 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World reported that nearly 2.3 billion people globally still lacked regular access to adequate food in 2024.
This campaign is not presented as a solution to global hunger.
We decided to do what we can within our reach - one Sunday, one meal, and one person at a time.
Every Sunday, 700 people receive a freshly prepared meal with dignity and care
