I am Priyanka, the founder member of NAYI RAAH. Being a dropout, what I could resonate, sharing that only. When I meet these children, I do not feel like I am helping them, I feel like I am seeing my own story reflected in theirs. When I was in 12th grade, my mother passed away, and it was the most difficult and sensitive period of my life. At such a young age, I had responsibilities, emotional pain, and uncertainty. But during that time, a strong determination to do something meaningful was born within me. I decided that I would never marry and would dedicate my entire life to these children. Perhaps it was this determination that eventually became the foundation of Nayi Raah.

Although I formally started Nayi Raah September 2025 last year, my work and efforts with these children have been ongoing for 11 years. I have been reaching out, teaching, guiding, and supporting children even when I didn’t know about registering an NGO or formal procedures. When I meet these children, I feel that I was once part of this community too. I do not want them to experience the same struggles and hardships that I went through. This journey is the most beautiful journey of my life, and my dream is that every child in the world gets education — and quality education at that.

The Problem: During survey conducted in November 2025, it was found that around 8560 children in the Gurugram district are either dropouts or out-of-school.
Many of these children come from families who moved to Gurugram from other states in search of work and settled here temporarily.

The main challenges they face are Families often lack necessary documents (IDs, residence proof, transfer certificates), Frequent relocation prevents consistent connection with schools, Lack of access to information about formal education systems and because of these barriers, these children cannot enroll in schools despite wanting to learn. They want to do a lot, but they do not have the right “Nayi Raah” to guide them.

Journey so far – 11 Years of Dedication
In the early days, I didn’t know that an NGO had to be formally registered. But I knew one thing for sure standing with these children was essential.

Over the past 11 years: I have visited homes to communicate with children and parents, Motivated children to return to learning, reassured them that they are not weak.

The Solution: Nayi Raah aims to ensure that children who are dropouts or out-of-school reconnect with education, get a second chance to learn, move towards a self-reliant and empowered future.

We provide children with: Basic education, Safe and supportive learning environment, Emotional support, Guidance to reconnect with schools so, that they can take flight toward their dreams.
