Marking attendance (staff portal)

Check-in needs a selfie and your location.

  • "A selfie is required to mark attendance": allow the camera and take the photo.
  • "Location is required to mark attendance — allow location access and try again": allow location for the browser (phone Settings → the browser → Location), then retry.
  • "Camera is busy. Close other apps...": close video calls or other camera apps.
  • "Your device is blocking the camera... Settings → Privacy → Camera": allow camera for the browser.
  • "Look at the camera and blink once": a quick liveness check. If it can't run: "Face check unavailable — you can still take your photo".

Location is recorded with the punch; there is no geofence.

Check-out and breaks

  • "You have already checked out. Use 'Undo check-out' to resume work." Undoing counts the gap as break time, which is subtracted from hours worked.

Locked dates

  • "Payroll has already been processed for that month — attendance can no longer be recorded": ask HR to reopen that payroll run if a correction is needed.
  • "Attendance is locked for dates older than N days": ask HR to correct it.
  • "Today's attendance was set by your HR team — ask them to change it".

Leave requests

  • "Insufficient balance. Available: X days": choose fewer days or another leave type.
  • "No working days in the selected range (only weekends/holidays)".
  • "Leave not allowed during: ...": the leave type has a blackout period. Other leave-type rules: notice period, maximum consecutive days, minimum service.
  • "You cannot approve your own leave request — someone else has to."
  • "Your login is not linked to an employee record — ask HR to link it..."

Maternity and paternity leave only appear for employees of the matching gender.
