Record, verify and import donations

Record a donation

Donations → Record donation (quick add). Pick the donor, amount, date and how the money was received. The reference/UTR field is optional.

Donations you record are saved as Verified immediately, get a receipt number, and email a receipt to the donor if they have an email address.

Why the form refused it

• "Choose how the money was received": pick a payment method.
• "Date can't be in the future".
• "₹2,00,000 or more in cash breaches section 269ST...": record it in parts only if it really was received separately, otherwise use a bank method.
• "PAN is required for 80G receipt" / "Address is required for 80G receipt": add them, or untick 80G.
• Cash above ₹2,000 is saved as a general (non-80G) donation automatically; section 80G(5D) does not allow a tax deduction for it.
• Anonymous donations above ₹2,000 are refused (section 337). Record the donor's name.
• "A foreign (FCRA) contribution cannot be 80G-eligible... Untick one of these."
• "This organisation has no receipt prefix...": set a Short code in Settings → NGO profile first.

Foreign (FCRA) donations

A donation is foreign if you tick it, if it came through Stripe, or if the donor's nationality is not Indian. Foreign donations never get an 80G receipt and should go to your FCRA bank account.

Pending, Verified, Rejected

• Public UPI and bank-transfer donations arrive as Pending. Find them with the Pending filter on Donations, check your bank, then Verify or Reject.
• Bulk verify handles up to 50 at a time.
• Rejecting needs a reason of at least 3 characters.
• A verified donation cannot be deleted; see the "Void a donation" guide.

Import donations

Donations → Import. Up to 500 rows. Required columns: donor name, amount, date. Optional: method, PAN, email, phone, UTR, purpose, project, 80G, Foreign, receipt no.

• Imported donations do not email receipts automatically; use Send receipts after the import.
• Undo is possible within 24 hours, unless receipts were already sent.

In-kind and pledges

• In-kind register appears only after you turn on "accepts in-kind donations" in Settings → NGO profile.
• Pledges show On track, Overdue, Fulfilled or Cancelled; progress counts the donations linked to the pledge.
