About the role
Captains of CLiC is a 12 month, part-time community leadership role for careleavers in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota. Careleavers are young people who grew up in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and had to leave at 18. CLiC Forum is started and run by careleavers. As a CLiC Captain, you will be CLiC's trusted face in your district. You will register careleavers on the CLiC Portal, stay in touch with them every month, connect them to schemes, documents, courses and jobs, and flag urgent cases to the CLiC team. You will report to your district Cluster Manager and give about 6 to 12 hours a week. You receive Rs 5,000 a month as an honorarium, plus training, and a certificate at the end of the year. This role is part of CLiC's Aftercare programme.
What you'll do
- Be the first local contact for careleavers, backed by CLiC's 24/7 helpline
- Help at life-skills sessions and visits for CCI adolescents (15 to 18) with CLiC staff
- Hand out CLiC cards and share information on the Aftercare Scheme
- Find careleavers in the district who are not yet connected to CLiC, through CCIs, DCPU lists, friends and WhatsApp groups.
- Call or meet every careleaver in the caseload at least once a month, and more often for anyone in a hard phase.
- Share CLiC courses, scholarships and job openings in the district WhatsApp group and with individual careleavers.
- Run the district careleaver WhatsApp group and host one small careleaver meetup every quarter.
